Please join us for the 5th Annual Risk & Insurance Symposium. Public Entity Partners’ members from across the state are invited to register for three days of educational sessions and networking opportunities. Last year’s event brought over 200 local government officials together to network, gain valuable continuing education credits, and refresh their outlook on safety and risk management.

This year’s event will provide participants with quality risk management educational opportunities in multiple areas of interest to local governments. Participants may register for the entire three-day event or for the days that best fit their areas of interest.

Sessions offered are designed to improve your risk and insurance knowledge and give participants tangible ideas to implement within their entity.

Hotel Information

Book your group rate for Public Entity Partners Risk & Insurance Symposium

A block of rooms at the Cool Springs Franklin Marriott has been reserved for Symposium participants. The negotiated room rate is $157 per night and is available until the room block is filled or until Wednesday, July 29th.

For special requests related to your reservation at the Franklin Marriott (including, but not limited to ADA accessible rooms, arrival prior to the conference dates, etc.), please call the hotel directly and ask for the Group Rooms Coordinator at the property. Group Rooms Coordinators are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, and all voicemails will be returned promptly.

Note for Attendees Reserving a Hotel Room with a Check:
The Franklin Marriott accepts advanced deposit by check as a method of payment. Should you need to cancel a reservation for which a check has already been submitted to the hotel, your payment will be refunded to the address on the check within 30 days of your cancellation, provided that the reservation cancellation occurred outside of the group’s cancellation window of 72 hours prior to arrival.

Excellence in Risk Management Award

The Excellence in Risk Management Award honors members of Public Entity Partners who exemplify excellence, innovation, creativity, and commitment to providing quality safety and risk management programs within their entities. This award is designed to recognize entities of all sizes that make use of available resources to creatively implement safety programs. Examples of risk management are found in all operations, from utilizing technology, to creating/updating proper documentation and repair orders, or jump starting a safety committee

Purpose
To recognize an individual, department, or organization that exemplifies excellence, innovation, and commitment to the risk and insurance field.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The nominee must be a current Public Entity Partners member, employee of a current Public Entity Partners member, or local agent of record.
  • The nominee must work to further risk management within their entity. Applications will be reviewed for quality and overall impact to risk management. Nominees can be considered for a specific program or contributions to risk management over time.
Nominations
  • Candidates may self-nominate or can be nominated by someone familiar with their contributions.
  • Nominations must be submitted electronically below, or by completing the Excellence in Risk Management Award Nomination Form and emailing the form, along with required documents, to Halie Gallik (hgallik@PEpartners.org).
  • Awards will be presented on Thursday, August 20, 2020, during the 2020 Risk & Insurance Symposium.

A completed nomination form and a letter of recommendation is required to be submitted in order for the application to be considered. Please include copies of any relevant documents pertaining to the nomination, including a copy of policies/procedures created or a copy of an inspection procedure.

FAQ

    Who can attend?

    This conference is designed for Public Entity Partners’ members who are local government employees and officials, including:
    • Anyone with Safety Responsibilities, Interests or Concerns
    • Supervisors with Safety Responsibilities
    • Safety, Risk and HR Manager
    • Mayors and Elected Officials
    • City Managers/Administrators
    • City Recorders/Clerks
    • Finance Directors
    • Human Resource Employees

    • Law Enforcement
    How much does it cost?

    The conference is FREE to attend for Public Entity Partners’ members. Participants are responsible for the cost of their hotel rooms and any food or meals outside of what is provided during breaks and official events.
    What meals are provided?

    The Symposium will begin on Wednesday AFTER lunch. A Wednesday afternoon break with snacks will be provided. Participants are invited to attend a networking reception with light hors d’oeuvres on Wednesday evening. On Thursday, a morning snack break, lunch, and afternoon snack break will be served. On Friday, a morning snack break will be served. Breakfast is not provided.
    Will I receive proof of attendance?

    All participants will receive a name badge with a QR code that can be scanned at the beginning of each session attended. At the conclusion of the symposium, a transcript with all sessions and the applicable continuing education credits will be emailed to the email address provided at registration. Participants are responsible for ensuring they scan into each session they attend.
    What is the dress code?

    The recommended dress code is business casual.
