In this one-hour session, we will discuss the importance of adhering to the Handbook for Public Playground Safety as the standard for defense. We will stress the importance of documented inspections, frequency of inspections, and comprehensive training in mitigating liability risks.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the basis of liability, including the Tennessee Governmental Tort Liability Act (TGTLA), along with the elements of negligence — particularly those highlighting the heightened duty of care owed to children.

Partnering for Success Webinar: A Conversation with the New Open Records Counsel

Elisha Hodge will introduce members to Toni Chadwick, the new Open Records Counsel (“OORC”) for the State of Tennessee. Elisha and Toni will discuss reoccurring issues and questions that staff in the OORC encounter related to both the Tennessee Public Records Act and the Tennessee Open Meetings Act. Finally, Toni will discuss bills currently being considered by the General Assembly that could impact members.
