Cybersecurity Month kicks off October with “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”

This theme encourages individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace, stressing personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity.

Now in its 17th year, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) continues to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity across our Nation, ensuring that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.

Each week of October will focus on a specific area in which every organization should focus:

  • Week of October 5:  If You Connect It, Protect It
  • Week of October 12:  Securing Devices at Home and Work
  • Week of October 19:  Securing Internet-Connected Devices in Healthcare
  • Week of October 26:  The Future of Connected Devices

During NCSAM, there are tips sheets available to utilize tools for reducing cybersecurity risks and protecting yourself online.  Use these resources in your community and organization throughout the year to encourage strong cybersecurity.  These materials are free and may be modified to fit your needs.
