10th Annual Risk & Insurance Symposium Brings Members Together
- 9/10/2026 8:00 am
Public Entity Partners welcomed members from across Tennessee to Franklin on Aug. 26-28 for the 10th Annual Risk & Insurance Symposium. The three-day event brought together public entity leaders, risk management professionals and industry experts for education, collaboration and networking focused on building safer, more resilient communities.
This year’s program featured sessions addressing many of the challenges facing public entities today, including:
- ADA website compliance
- Cybersecurity
- Emergency vehicle operations
- Law enforcement
- Municipal liability
- Workers’ compensation
- Workplace safety
Attendees also explored emerging issues such as:
- Fatigue-related risks
- Liability surrounding community events and recreation
- Shifting climate hazards
- Social media and free speech
Featured presentations included “Adapt and Overcome” with motivational speaker Jody Fuller and “The Leadership Connector” with keynote speaker Ken Hartley. Attendees also had an opportunity to put their skills to the test in an emergency vehicle driving simulator and exchange ideas during a collaborative risk management roundtable.
In addition, PEP introduced its new cyber program in partnership with CFC. The program will provide expanded cyber coverage terms and enhanced risk management resources designed to help eligible members prevent, prepare for and respond to cyber incidents.
The Symposium also offered plenty of time for attendees to connect outside the classroom. A networking reception opened the event Wednesday evening, followed by dinner and dueling pianos Thursday night.
During the Excellence in Risk Management Awards Luncheon, PEP recognized six individuals and organizations whose leadership and commitment to safety have made a meaningful difference in the communities they serve. [link to article below]
PEP also held its annual Insured Organization Meeting, during which insured organizations confirmed two new members to the PEP Board of Directors. [link to the article below]
