2021 Risk & Insurance Symposium 

 

It’s hard to believe we are less than three months away from our annual Risk & Insurance Symposium, scheduled for Aug. 25 - 27 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. This free, three-day educational event offers timely and informative sessions that cover topics of interest to local governments, and is open to all Public Entity Partners members and local agents.

Keynote speaker Billy Parker, better known as Billy P. the Amputee, will share his inspiring story on learning how to thrive despite experiencing a catastrophic workplace injury resulting in the loss of both arms. Session speakers will include representatives from the City of Spring Hill; Farrar & Bates, LLP; FDRsafety; the Legal & Liability Risk Management Institute; Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, PLC; the Tennessee Fire Academy; the Town of Nolensville; the University of Memphis; and more.

 

Several of this year’s sessions are already approved for Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) (10.5 credit hours – 5.5 Financial and 5 Other) and Utility Commissioner (10.5 credit hours) continuing education credit, and we are working to provide credit in additional categories as well. Opportunities to network with peers from other entities and share ideas will also be provided, including a social event on Wednesday evening, Aug. 25, at the Mill Creek Brewing Company in Nolensville. Registration is required for this special event.
