The 2022 Risk & Insurance Symposium is only a few weeks away and is gearing up to be one of the best yet! This year’s Symposium is being held on August 24th - 26th at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee.

Award Winner-Leland Blackwood, City of Maryville

The City of Maryville provides water, sewer, electric, codes, planning, economic development, fire, police, parks and recreation, and sanitation services to approximately 30,000 citizens. In his role as risk manager for the city, Leland Blackwood has worked diligently for more than 19 years to make safety a priority across the city and among the entity’s more than 300 employees, and to safeguard public resources, including buildings valued at nearly $220 million.

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) strives to improve the quality of life for citizens in 14 counties throughout the Cumberland region. They offer a diverse array of community services, including weatherization assistance, community corrections, Head Start, youth programs and public transit.
